We propose implementing a strategic token burn schedule to enhance MORSE token value and utility through a controlled reduction in supply.
The burn will follow a progressive schedule over 150 days (regardless of when TGE is, the burn will last for 150 days), ultimately removing 2,223 MORSE tokens (22.23% of total supply) from circulation.
Note: The burn only affects the fungible token supply, while preserving the unique NFT components.
Background & Rationale
As the Mitosis ecosystem continues to grow, we believe a well-structured token burn will benefit all MORSE holders by:
Enhancing token value through controlled supply reduction
Creating sustained community interest through a progressive burn schedule
Demonstrating our commitment to long-term ecosystem health
Building engagement through a transparent, community-approved process
Burn Mechanics
Key Parameters
Total Burn Period: 150 days
Total Burn Amount: 2,223 tokens (22.23% of total supply)
Burn Pattern: Quadratic acceleration (starts slow, increases over time)
Burn Schedule
The burn follows a quadratic progression formula that starts slowly and accelerates over time:
Day 30: ~89 tokens burned (4% of total burn)
Day 60: ~356 tokens burned (16% of total burn)
Day 90: ~801 tokens burned (36% of total burn)
Day 120: ~1,423 tokens burned (64% of total burn)
Day 150: 2,223 tokens burned (100% of total burn)
Daily Burn Rate Progression
Day 1: 0.1 tokens
Day 30: 5.93 tokens
Day 60: 11.86 tokens
Day 90: 17.78 tokens
Day 120: 23.71 tokens
Day 150: 29.54 tokens
Implementation Process
Approval: This proposal will be voted on by MORSE holders
Execution Start: The burn schedule will begin within 72 hours after the voting period
Transparency: Each burn transaction will be publicly verifiable on-chain
Final Report: Comprehensive analysis will be provided after the burn completes
Community Governance
This proposal represents the first step toward greater community involvement in MORSE governance. Your participation in this vote will help shape not only the token economics but also the future governance structure of the MORSE ecosystem.
Looking Forward
Following this initial burn proposal, we plan to continue developing a more comprehensive governance framework that will enable MORSE holders to participate in key decisions about the ecosystem’s future.
stop weekly distribution of MORSE raffle and other giveaways to not so active users
provide liquidity in Uniswap MORSE liquidity pool so anyone that want to fill up the partial MORSE can do it without much slippage and maybe team can use the revenue for marketing or future collaborations
Read the proposal but still don’t really understand:
How come we are having to consider burning MORSE tokens in the first place?
How come 10000 MORSE was considered too much? Was this to try to drive up value? Was there not enough demand? I’m just trying to understand the rationale for the burn.
Also it doesn’t help address situations dealing with possible sybils/bots who farmed MORSE through other means too (although I know this is another situation of course).
Am totally FOR the burn… But don’t really understand how it works with the NFT.. as they are kinda linked right.. So burning 2000 or so Tokens… Does it mean NFT supply go down to?
